We are the humboldt gymnasium, and we want to show you our school closer. We want to describe you how pupils live every morning (and maybe in the afternoon) in our humboldt gymnasium.
At first, you should know that the school start from monday to friday, and the first lesson begin 7.55 am. After two lesson you have a big break, so you have 20 mins break, in the first, and 15 min break in the second. After one lesson, you have 5 mins break, so you can swap you room. We´re an enviroment school in the years 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009, because all pupils are enviroment friendly.
Tracts
The rooms are in four different tracts divided, the north tract, the south tract, the east tract and the west tract. The north tract have two etages, for the room numbers theres an N for the North. In the first etage are the Biology rooms, and in the second etage are the Physik rooms. The other tracts have normaly classes, except the west tract, there are Chemistry rooms. The school is very big,we have two houses, in the little house are the grades 5-7. In the other house are grades 8-13.
Activities
Our school offers a variety of activities. You can go in a "AG" (Arbeitsgemeinschaft = society), to find a new hobby, etc. For example, when you go to the "Schach-AG" (Chesssociety), you can play chess with others and go to competitions. Maybe you win a price?
Once a year all pupils have a special week, it names "Projectweek". You can choose a project, from many other projects, and you will come in. In this week you work with this theme only.
When the "Abiturienten" have wrote there exams, they choose a special theme, for example, in the year 2009 all "Abiturienten" wear pirates clothes, and than they make funny competitions about this theme.
Cafeteria
Until march, we had a little Cafeteria. But she closed, because we get a new breakarea. So we have just a little baker. We haven´t set eattimes, pupils eat in breaks. The pupils bring their eat with them or they buy there eat.
Other informations
We havemany partner. Pupils can switch their area, with one of our partner for one year or longer.
In year 2009 a famous band calls "Silbermond" sings at our school, because some pupils win a competition.
Some classes go into some events about the years. The school don´t make many activities together, but the classes for theirselves.
The pupils make their homework at home. But when they forget their homework, they make them foor the subject in the break. If pupils haven´t got their homework three times in a schoolyear, they become a letter to their parents that the parents know that their children don´t made their homework.
