Students of the Humboldt-gymnasium and visitors from Poland and Bulgaria spend three days in Germany´s capital.

Gifhorn. The victory-column, the Reichstag, and the East-Side-Gallery- are three of the many sights  the students, their temporary exchange students and teachers viewed at their stay in Berlin. The majority of the group consisted of 89 students of five geography classes of the 12th grade. Adding to that, there were the exchange program and their guests from Reda (Poland) and Burgas (Bulgaria).

The start of the sightseeing tour  was the victory-columm: The bus dropped the group off there and they took a long walk to the Brandenburger Tor and the Reichstag. Some students had prepared presentations at each sight. Afterwards they had freetime in small groups before they ate dinner at the hotel together. In the late evening a few students decided to take part in the “Night-Walk” at the East-Side-Gallery (the rest of the Berlin-Wall with lots of artistical grafitties), which teacher Daniel Ringkowski lead.

The next day everyone met in front of the hotel to take part in a guided city tour. They got through the city by the subway or train, but also on foot where lots of new things could be discovered. After three hours, even the fittest students were exhausted, says the school. In the afternoon they went to the Holocaust Memorial, the Topography of Terror and Checkpoint Charlie, where students again held presentations. Later that day, they were allowed to move around the city as they pleased. After  breakfast they started another walk along the East-Side-Gallery with one last presentation.

The cooperation with the Polish exchange students, however, did not end : In April six students from Gifhorn will go to Poland as a part of the Erasmus-Plus-Project.

The Reichstag was one of the m any sights the students, exchange students from Poland and Bulgaria and teachers of the Humboldt-Gymnasium visited.

Many presentations about Berlin´s sights were held.
